I heard SO much about these scrummy pancakes.
So much so, I had to take a trip down Camden Market and see for myself what the craze was all about.
Feast your eyes on this:
For a vegan, dairy and gluten free pancake, it was pretty awesome tasting!
Fluffy, light and yummylicious. They were faultless.
Probably one of the best vegan buckwheat pancakes I’ve gorged on.
To top it all off,
They’re organic! – You know how much I LOVE organic produce.
I was so overwhelmed by the taste,
I just had to ask the lady what they’re made of!
Fresh Superhero Ingredients
In short, the pancakes are fried in coconut oil and made up of the following:
- Organic Buckwheat Flour
- Fresh Young Organic Coconut Water
- Organic Creamed Coconut Flesh
You’re probably thinking, where’s the sugar right?
I thought the same.
Believe it or not,
NO sugar is added.
The sweetness comes from the syrup topping of your choice.
I love the fact she uses creamed coconut flesh in her pancakes.
I use it a lot in my quinoa porridge. It adds a wonderful creaminess.
I gotta say,
I was impressed with the freshness of the fruits.
And the cool thing is,
You can have as MANY toppings of your choice, piled on top of 4 OSU style pancakes.
There are quite a few healthy toppings to choose from.
Which ones do you fancy?
- Sprouted Walnuts
- Meridian Peanut Butter
- Biona Date Syrup
- Chocolate Sauce
- Caramel Sauce
- Coconut Whipped Cream
- Vegan Nutella
I opted for banana, blueberries, peanut butter and strawberries drizzled with date syrup AND caramel sauce.
Obviously, I didn’t need 2 sauce toppings.
I just wanted to taste the caramel sauce 🙂
Which is made from creamed coconut, sugar and coconut water.
By the way, the date syrup is liquid gold.
I gotta get me some of that stuff.
Date syrup coupled with the pancakes was a match made in heaven.
Before you pop off,
Watch the bubble lady owner make her scrummy organic coconut pancakes.
I must tell you how lovely the lady owner is.
She was a delightful, bubbly character.
SO sweet and jolly!
