Young Vegans Pie & Mash Review Camden Market
Heading to Camden Market? I have some Good News! Young Vegans have simply the BEST Gluten free and Vegan pie you could imagine. Read all about it in my Young Vegans Pie and Mash Review Camden Market.
Is there anything better than eating a GOOD hearty pie on a cold rainy day?
Then a cheeky vegan burger on a Friday night?
Or coconut pancakes drizzled with caramel sauce?
You’re bound to find something that tickles your fancy down in Camden Market.
This time, I was on the hunt for a mouthwatering pie.
And when I heard about Young Vegans offering vegan pies AND GLUTEN FREE…
I was there like a shot!
Young Vegans PIE-TASTIC
It’s a dinky little place run by highly successful pie makers.
Price wise, you’re looking at £7 for pie and mash.
Or a meal deal which includes pie and mash + dessert + any drink for £10.
Obviously, the meal deal is worth its weight in gold since the choc peanut butter mud pie is a bobby-dazzler!
They offer a variety of vegan pies. And two are gluten free.
Say whaaaaaat? Yip.
The curried pie and the sweet potato pie.
The curried pie is a must!
Even though I pigged out on a Bombay breakfast earlier, I still had curry in my blood.
So the sound of a curried pie was right up my alley.
I quickly grabbed my pie and went in search of some seating outside.
Which to be fair, took awhile.
Bank holiday mayhem!
Yet, my golden pie was still hot and steaming. I felt my stomach grumble.
Chock-a-block full with chana chickpeas, butternut squash and lentils in a mild curry.
To be honest it was rather fiery.
A bit like a jalfrezi I would say.
It was PIE-TASTIC!
Delicious-smelling, satisfyingly filling and sure to warm your bones.
Nicely accompanied by classic mash and gravy.
Comfort food doesn’t get much better than this!
Vegan & Gluten Free Flaky Pie Crust
The pastry crust was exceptional.
Beautifully tasty with a thin flaky crust.
Golden brown and textured like sun.
And as Mary Berry says…
No Soggy Bottom!
How do they do it?
Muddy Nut Pie – Oh My Oh My!
Oh em gee! – Is this pie for real?
I don’t know what to say apart from…
Nom Nom Nom Nom!
Still warm and THICK as mud… AMAAAAAAZING!
If I had to explain to a meat muncher, the understanding of a vegans brain,
I would hand them this mud pie and say… that is all. Genius!
Thank You, Young Vegans, For Existing,
And making the BEST darn curry pie that history would be proud of!
I longed to grab another muddy pie and run, but…
I didn’t wanna get FAT!
That’s basically it.
Willpower didn’t last long though,
I ended up trying the VBurger and Nitro’s vegan ice creams.
But that’s another story.
This Pie joint is the thing of vegan dreams.
So if you truly WANT to live the dream…
Be pie-wise!
And GET yourself down to Camden Market for a warming bite to eat.
